Waste Disposal Options

As part of making a waste disposal decision, DOE must conduct a Feasibility Study evaluating potential alternatives using criteria defined by a federal law called the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, or CERCLA.

The CERCLA criteria are divided into three categories:
1. Threshold Criteria
2. Balancing Criteria
3. Modifying Criteria
