Off-Site Evaluation Criteria

What determines if off-site disposal can be implemented?

Potential disposal facilities must meet the following criteria:
• Licensed/permitted
• Accessible by road or rail
• Able to accept the type of waste expected to be generated in Paducah
• Sufficient space available to accept expected Paducah waste volume
• Approval by DOE Consolidated Audit Program
• Closure plan acceptable to DOE
